6:00-6:15PM: Warm Up
6:15-6:35pm
Activity: Drop out Touch – 10v10, tagger has to retreat to touch line, and then regain defensive line
KFA: 1) depth and catch at pace 2) support lines at space created by first attacker
Focus: Keep score
Progression: Drop to ground and re-enter play, limit on 6 phases
6:35 – 6:50pm
Activity: Short/Long Drill – need 2 grids, 2 scrumhalfs, 2 defenders, 3 attackers – 2 grida set up side-by-side, SH passes to attackers, 1st defender commits, second chooses near or far, 2 attackers make a decision based on defense
KFA: 1) look forward, early, and often 2) make a definite decision
Focus: Count number of successful decisions
Progression: Add in finish at opposite end of sideline to score, remove cones
6:50-7:35pm Backs/Forwards Split
Activities: Backs – Short- Dave Ellis Series – flick pass, squat flick, catch over the shoulder (Coach Katie)
Starter Moves Review – w/Coach Carni – Curly 2 and others identified
KFA: 1) watch ball into the hands 2) commit defender, and change line of running
Focus: Count quality reps
Progression: 3 quality reps, move on to next starter move
Forwards – 1 v 1 , 3v3 vertical, scrum cadence reps in different locations, flow from lineout to scrum if time allows
KFA: 1) strong chest/head neutral 2) individual tension transfers between all 8
Focus: movement from several locations
