Time/Session #: 5:00-6:30pm, Defense Session
Equipment: 4 dummies, 4 hit shields, balls, cones, pinnies
Feedback: Defensive alignment, Up call, D1 and D2, Hesitation at tackle points, look up not all ball
Objective: Increase effectiveness in defensive launch and finish behind gain line
Principles: Go forward, Apply pressure

5:00-5:15pm: Passing/Dynamic Warmup – swerve step w/cones – 4 sets

5:15-5:30pm
Activity: Launch and Tackle course- with dummys and pads
KFA: 1) Launch and track 2) Up and my hit call
Focus: Discipline on defense/ technique
Progression: No up or my call- 5 push ups

5:30-5:50pm
Activity: 2 groups (attack and defense) Race to ruck- set D line (D1 and D2), launch and hit pads
KFA: 1) Set D1 and D2 correctly 2) Look up and align on correct side
Focus: check line integrity on the hit
Progression: Full tackle- no pads, D1 and D2 have to do an up down before next ruck, Or team burpee for offsides

5:30-5:50pm
Activity: Defensive alignment on kick- Kick from roped off area- 6 defenders chase, 3 receive
KFA: 1) Launch to close space 2) Build wall in front of the ball
Focus: count balls drop or bounced
Progression: several phases on counterattack played through – discuss role of back three to cover line on the kick on penalty

5:50-6:10pm Backs/Forwards Split
Activities:
Backs: Short-Long game – 3v2 w/decision making – progress to 3 v 3 w/no cones
KFA: 1) scan for gaps 2) commit first attacker
Forwards: Scrum reps/Angry cat and sprint
KFA: 1) pelvis tilt emphasis 2) activate core – belly button to spine

6:10-6:20pm – Semi-opposed w/ RGBY/Flow – players missing for Ardrey Kell Session tonight

6:20-6:30PM: Cool Down Stretching
