9/21/2017 – NEED 4 HIT SHIELDS, BALLS, CONES, PINNIES
Attire: Navy Dri-fit, socks, shorts
Time/Session #: 5:00-6:30pm
Feedback: Decision making/reading defense improvement needed
Objective: Increase scanning and initiative to attack, while recovering defensively
Principles: Apply Pressure/Go Forward

5:00-5:15pm: Passing warmup (5 people w/creative play) and Dynamic Warm Up

5:15-5:35PM:
Activity: Scan and Attack Touch (3 groups of 7) – 3 players on each team on defense drop back to touch the line, then re-enter field of play, pass after tag, 2 players w/navy pinnies drop back on the whistle
KFA: 1) recognize space when scanning forward 2) defense re-joins and connects
Focus: Count line breaks
Progression: Increase to 3 players in navy bibs

5:35-5:50pm
Activity: 7 v All – 7 attacking players, coach puts ball in play, ball is tossed for a breakdown for attacking side, defensive team is 15 players approaching from a line (turned facing away) to make a decision, run three phases from the breakdown
KFA 1) create separation at point of contact 2) decide when to concede ruck and setup D1/2
Focus: Highlight examples of proper defensive coverage
Progression: Include second line for delayed support

5:50-6:10pm Backs/Forwards Split – MiKayla w/backs, Sierra w/Forwards
Backs: 5 v 4, pass, kick under pressure, chase and defend
KFA: 1) build a wall to move forward 2) low body height in tackle decision making zone
Focus: Count successful instances of line integrity
Progression: 3 phases on attack, then kick and chase
Forwards: Lineout w/driving maul – review and try different roles/cover how to defend driving maul off a lineout
KFA: 1) speed in the air on the jump 2) head/shoulder positioning is stable and strong on the drive
Focus: Count successful reps
Progression: Discussion on 5 man v. full lineout, how to defend it

6:10-6:25pm – Semi-opposed w/ focus on reacting to penalties/decision making

6:25-6:30pm: Cool Down Stretching
